Kelpinor has announced the launch of its first production rig at Vedkjæran, Gildeskål. Spanning an expansive 50,000 square meters, the equivalent of 8 football fields, this state-of-the-art structure will play an important role in the company's mission to substantially scale up seaweed production.

‍Kelpinor has finished the deployment of 17 000 meters of seedlingline across two localities, Vedskjæran and at Kvalnesbukta in partnership with Salten Algae.

Kelpinor has announced the completion of both harvest and processing of 15 tonnes of cultivated Sugar Kelp. The harvest marks a great first-year production and demonstrates the ability to perform every part of the cultivation cycle, in-house and at scale.

Kelpinor, in collaboration with Ocean Access, has successfully deployed a pilot sensor buoy at the Vedskjæran seaweed farm. This deployment marks an important milestone in live environmental monitoring, which is essential for the health of local ecosystems and the optimal growth of seaweed.

Kelpinor has received its Organic Certifications from Debio for its seaweed, meeting the standards outlined in Norway's regulations for organic production. This makes Kelpinor one of just nine companies in Norway with certification for organic macroalgae production. The certification encompasses Kelpinor's cultivation activities and products, including seedlings and dried seaweed.
