Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the Kelpinor Group
Role summary
As our CFO, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and development of the Kelpinor Group by leading our accounting and finance operations. The right candidate will also be considered as the CEO in two of our group companies.
Role description
We are seeking a CFO who can effectively balance hands-on engagement in day-to-day financial tasks with a strategic focus on long-term objectives. In this role, you will work closely with the entire Kelpinor team, contributing actively to our growth plans and sustainable business goals.
About Kelpinor
Kelpinor is a climate-focused company cultivating seaweed on a large scale to support sustainable agriculture and enhance plant health. Our operations are based in Våg on the scenic island of Sandhornøy in Gildeskål Municipality. Founded in 2022 by NTNU School of Entrepreneurship alumni, Kelpinor is now transitioning into full commercial operations, recently securing 2.7 million NOK in a pre-seed investment round.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee group accounting and financial functions.
- Conduct financial analyses and prepare presentations.
- Lead planning and execution of fundraising activities.
- Manage applications for, and reporting on, soft funding sources.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Act as the primary contact for banking, audit, and financial institutions.
- Plan and manage HR functions, including recruitment.
- Oversee procurement of licenses and insurances.
- Present financial reports in monthly board meetings.
- Lead sustainability and regulatory reporting.
Requirements
- Fluency in Norwegian and English.

This role is based in Våg, Sandhornøy in Gildeskål municipality, south of Bodø. We expect the CFO to work on-site at least three days a week to foster company culture. Public transport to Våg (by boat) is available daily from Bodø.
