After a week full of achievements, we’re thrilled to announce our first research project in collaboration with SINTEF Nord, where we are taking the lead under the project Physis. This initiative allows us to focus more on cultivated seaweed species for agricultural applications. To top it off, we also had a visit from one of our board members.
To celebrate, a few of us (except Hermann, who was busy baking Christmas cookies, and Arshad, who stayed in Oslo) took a trip to a cozy cabin in Sweden over the weekend. We kicked off our adventure early on Friday, heading out after lunch. Driving through the winter darkness, we were treated to a sunset at just 3 pm and, later, the mesmerizing northern lights.
Saturday started early for me, even though it was the weekend, one of the downsides of the short daylight hours. But it was worth it! We headed to Skaiti for my first-ever ice climbing session. It was a fun experience, climbing in a snowy wonderland and not as cold as expected. A few years ago, I wouldn’t have believed my life could look like this! Meanwhile, the others went for some shopping in Sweden and experimented with skiing behind a car. We ended off the day with a cozy dinner, enjoying tapas together.
Sunday was a perfect conclusion to the trip. We skied through powdery snow in the forest, though the street we had to descend on caused a few scratches to our skis. But hey, that’s just part of the adventure. It was worth it, especially after the last ski trip where we just had enough snow to be on a winter hike…
Exhausted but recharged, we’re ready to take on a new week. On the agenda: more production and putting the finishing touches on another research project application especially after the success of our first one.
