Kelpinor is seeking interdisciplinary individuals for an internship focused on seaweed production, cultivation, and product development.

Kelpinor is seeking interdisciplinary induviduals for an internshop focused on sustainable seaweed cultivation and new product development. We seek dedicated individuals across fields, including in biology, chemistry and engineering. We offer a unique opportunity to contribute to renewable resource innovations for food, agriculture, and materials. Interns will engage in a combination of laboratory work, field research, product development and production, playing an important role in our mission for a climate-neutral future.

Key Activities:

  • Development and testing of new seaweed-based products.
  • Development of next generation cultivation and processing system.
  • Experimentation with formulas and processes in laboratory settings.
  • Production of kelp seedlings and gametophyte cultures.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation in seaweed utilisation.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree in related fields.
  • A keen interest in sustainability, renewable resources, and environmental conservation.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Join Kelpinor for your Master's thesis to contribute to practical seaweed-based solutions for a sustainable future. You'll apply your expertise in collaboration with our team, focusing on real-world applications and innovations.

Kelpinor invites Master's students to collaborate on projects for a climate-neutral future through seaweed cultivation. Open to various disciplines, including Biology, Organic Chemistry, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Process Manufacturing, Computer Engineering, Food Science, and Logistics. Other fields passionate about sustainable seaweed innovation are welcome.

What You'll Do:

  • Work towards scaling seaweed cultivation with our team.
  • No prior seaweed/aquaculture experience needed.

Candidate Attributes:

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, persistent, and inquisitive.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a Master's program.
  • Able to spend a minimum of 4 weeks on-site at Sandhornøya.
  • Passionate about sustainability.
